Our Rating:

3.9/5.0

⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Bottom Line:

The ErgoTune Supreme chair is designed to provide a high level of ergonomic support, although it comes with a relatively high price tag. Some individuals may not favour the chair’s strong lumbar support and limited style choices, but its customisable features and use of premium materials make it a strong competitor in its category.

Given its high price, you should try it before you buy. Some customers have said that the lumbar support is too aggressive and it’s fairly expensive investment for such as important piece of office furniture.

Who Should Buy The ErgoTune Supreme?

The ErgoTune Supreme is ideal for those who spend long hours working from home and prioritise ergonomics in their workspace. If you’ve experienced discomfort or pain from sitting in subpar chairs, this model offers a solution designed to support your posture and comfort throughout the day. However, it is only for those with a moderate to high budget since it will set you back a bit.

What We Liked:

  • We were impressed by the ErgoTune Supreme’s solid construction and extensive customisation options. An example is the DuraWeave hybrid-mesh material, which combines breathability with durability.
  • The chair’s 12-year warranty provides added assurance of its long-term value.
  • The Auto-Tuning Lumbar Area Support (ATLAS) is the standout feature of the ErgoTune Supreme. It effectively prevents slouching and promotes proper posture, marking a notable improvement over other chairs that rely on extra cushions for lumbar support.

What We Didn’t Like:

  • Although the headrest is adjustable, it lacks a secure locking mechanism, which may prove bothersome if you frequently change positions.
  • The lumbar support may feel overly firm for some, particularly during the initial adjustment period.
  • From a design perspective, if you prefer a more understated or luxurious look in your home office may not find the chair’s aesthetics appealing.

My Thoughts On The ErgoTune Supreme

After using the ErgoTune Supreme for several weeks, it’s clear that this chair has been designed with a strong focus on ergonomics. Thanks to its well-thought-out design, it has noticeably improved my posture and prevented slouching and I’m content with its position as one of the best ergonomic office chairs.

However, the initial adjustment period was challenging, particularly due to the chair’s firm lumbar support. This is a common theme you will see on forums, that the lumbar support is too aggressive. Once I got used to it, though, the chair became a comfortable and supportive addition to my home office.

The breathable mesh has been extremely beneficial, particularly during the hot summer, and I appreciate the chair’s robust construction. At no point did I ever feel unstable.

The ability to adjust almost every aspect of the chair, from the headrest to the armrests, has allowed me to customise it to my preferences. While many ergonomic chairs do this, the difference with the Supreme is the combination of comfort and adjustability.

Overall, the ErgoTune Supreme is a high-quality, mid-range option that lives up to its promises, although its firm support may not suit everyone. And with its price tag, I could understand some people’s objections.

Pricing

Priced at $799, the ErgoTune Supreme is a mid-range ergonomic chair that offers okay value for money due to its range of features and 12-year warranty. It’s a mile cheaper than any Herman Miller chair so it’s a worthwhile option if you want comparable quality for a lower price.

Although people on forums say that it’s an extremely good-quality chair, the price is simply too high to commit to.

Design & Aesthetics

The ErgoTune Supreme chair is a meticulously designed seating solution that strikes a perfect balance between functionality and style. If you value ergonomics over styling, then the Supreme’s angular form won’t bother you.

Constructed with DuraWeave hybrid-mesh material, it exudes a modern aesthetic while ensuring breathability and durability. The mesh provides both sturdiness and comfort, promoting proper airflow even during long work sessions. However, some users on Reddit forums outline that the mesh can be a bit abrasive at times.

Like most office chairs, its bulkiness may not appeal to those who prefer sleeker furniture, and the limited colour options of charcoal black, aqua blue, and coral red may not suit every interior design.

How It Performed

The ErgoTune Supreme chair is designed for exceptional performance, providing support and comfort throughout the day. With 11 adjustment points, it offers a highly personalised experience to accommodate different body types and preferences.

The ATLAS lumbar support effectively promotes good posture, despite feeling firm at first. The TriTune 3D headrest provides excellent support for the neck and head but you can’t secure it into place which proved to be slightly annoying after a while.

The armrests can be adjusted in five directions, catering to various typing, writing, and relaxing positions. Additionally, the rocking function adds versatility, allowing you to easily switch between upright and more relaxed positions.

Customers Reviews

Many users have given the ErgoTune Supreme positive feedback, particularly appreciating its ergonomic design and customisable features. Reviews often highlight the chair’s ability to provide comfortable support during extended periods of sitting.

On the downside, a lot of negative comments fall into two camps:

  • The price point is too high for what it is. Without knowing the budgets of the people who provided comments in Reddit forums, most said that they would have gone for a cheaper option, or at least a second-hand Supreme or Herman Miller. The chair is too expensive for an item that is so important to your standing desk setup.
  • The lumbar support is quite pronounced and it gave some users back issues.

Concluding Thoughts

The ErgoTune Supreme is a highly ergonomic chair that offers moderate support, albeit at a fairly high price. While the chair’s robust lumbar support and limited style options may not cater to everyone’s preferences, its range of customisable features and use of high-quality materials ensure that it competes favourably within its category.

However, based on a review of forum comments and customer feedback, this chair is definitely one to try before you buy. It costs a lot of money and there may be a cheaper alternative that performs the same.
