The Bottom Line:
The Monti Therapeutic Office Chair combines comfort, flexibility, and ergonomic design, making it an excellent choice for anyone looking to boost workplace productivity and physical well-being.
It sports innovative and robust features, such as the Multi-level Asynchro Mechanism, height-adjustable arms, and posture-correcting lumbar support. For its price point, the Monti offers great value for money, comes with a 10-year warranty, and will complement a good standing desk.
Who Should Buy The Monti Therapeutic Office Chair?
Based on my review, the Monti Therapeutic Office Chair is ideal for office workers who work long hours at their computers, experience back discomfort while sitting, and want many ergonomic customisation options.
Given its price point, the Monti is probably outside the price range for those on a budget. Additionally, warranting the amount of money required might be difficult for people who use it occasionally.

My Thoughts on the Monti Therapeutic Office Chair
The number of adjustments is incredible
This is where the Monti shines. For a mid-priced ergonomic chair, the level of flexibility you get exudes value for money.
Three levers are under the PU seat cushion to adjust the seat height, the degree of seat tilt, and the incline of the backrest. The ratchet back adjustment, in particular, enables you to find the right ergonomic setting, resulting in stable lumbar support.
As an example, the BIFMA multi-level adjust mechanism located in the chair spine facilitates adjustments in the backrest and seat. What’s the advantage of this? It gives the seat a slight forward tilt, which gives a more natural sitting position. Combine this with the tilt tension control, and the reclining position is quite balanced with the seat tilt.
X-Wheel blade casters (optional)
While I didn’t get the X-Wheel casters, the option to enhance the chair’s mobility on a wide range of floor surfaces is a nice thought. Although they will cost an additional $79 and you’re sacrificing looks (they look quite industrial), these rubberised wheels provide quiet, smooth mobility and are gentle on all floors, such as carpets, wooden floorboards, tiles and vinyl.
However, the pros go beyond just being able to move around better. Since they are rubberised, your floors will be less prone to scuff marks and scratches.
Ergonomic seat design
The high-density PU cushion with a waterfall edge relieves leg pressure, making it more comfortable to sit for long periods. In fact, it was noticeably more comfortable than any other office chair in lower price brackets. The way the seat conforms to your body shape is remarkable, and this often goes unheralded in office chairs.
Pricing
Priced at $595, the Monti Therapeutic Office Chair sits in the middle range bracket. Considering the features and robustness you get, it is fairly priced as a mid-tier option. Considering the 10-year warranty and durability you get, think of it as a long-term investment.
Design and Aesthetics
The Monti Therapeutic Office Chair doesn’t look special – and it’s no surprise since it’s primarily used in corporate office spaces.
Only available in black, it lacks the sleekness and curves of more refined office chairs, but it still appeals from an aesthetic point of view. This is mostly from the mesh in the backrest since its see-through nature is a necessary element compared to the flat black of the rest of the chair.
Having the Monti alongside my UpDown Pro standing desk, the chair does feel a bit out of place compared to the sleekness of my desk. If you want an ergonomic chair that also functions as a central feature in your office, it’s best to look elsewhere.
Ease of Setup
Removing it from the box and setting it up took about 25 minutes and was a fairly straightforward process. The provided instructions were clear and easy to follow, allowing one person to complete the task.
BDO also provides a set of basic tools to do the job, so you won’t need to go to the shed.
How It Feels
Simply put, the Monti is above average when it comes to comfort. The slight forward tilt of the PU cushioned seat promotes natural spine alignment. But the mesh in the backrest is extremely comfortable. Unlike cheaper mesh-backed office chairs, the supporting back frame behind the mesh cannot be pressed upon.
Adjusting the seat depth and backrest angle was simple, and the ratchet method for the backrest height worked perfectly. The armrests were good but not impressive – they adjust height and swivel, providing ideal wrist support.
Sitting on the Monti for long was comfortable, especially with the high-density cushion and waterfall front of the seat, which kept my legs from getting tired.
Warranty
The Monti comes with a 10-year warranty, which is a testament to its durability and stability. Although the warranty isn’t as high as the 12-year warranty for premium Herman Miller chairs, BDO still gives you great peace of mind for a mid-priced chair.
Customer Reviews
Many users appreciate the Monti Therapeutic Office Chair’s exceptional comfort and versatility. Occupational therapists commonly prescribe it for its ergonomic benefits, and it is well-known for its long-lasting structure and high-weight capability. Some people notice the greater price, but most believe the chair’s qualities are worth it.
Final Verdict
The Monti Therapeutic Office Chair stands out from the crowded area of ergonomic office chairs. Its great flexibility and careful design components centred on user comfort and health make it a strong competitor for anyone looking to invest in workplace comfort. While it may need a larger initial outlay and more time to build and calibrate fully, the long-term benefits for comfort and posture make it an excellent investment.
